Sharing Joan’s Vision and Strategy
I am an individual who recognizes and encourages people’s talents. Focusing on mentoring people at work and in volunteer positions gives me a sense of accomplishment when you see people rise to their expectations. I am a life-long learner who strives to improve myself each day. I am an effective planner and attentive to details while focused on the larger picture.
As a candidate for International Director I would like to share some of my thoughts regarding the vision and strategy.
Vision – Focus on an effective way to provide guidance on measuring, providing feedback, and delivering the skills that our members want and need. Focus on promoting within corporate organizations that Toastmasters is the first-choice provider of dynamic, high-value, experiential communications and leadership skills and recognize the value to their organization.
Strategy: Focus on growth that will keep our programs strong and effective. Look to increase the minimum membership to 10 members within the next two years. Rollout of the education plan will require mentors to educate and work with the member to determine their path. Focus on technology to provide official officer training online, mentor education training online for the new education program, virtual conventions within the districts, structure a new online club that can be inclusive around the world, coaches and mentors online for clubs where there are scarce resources to mentor the new club members.
I ask for your vote … Joan R Watson, International Director Region 4.
